Basic Hygiene Course & Certification
For those wishing to sell their honey products, particularly at Country Fairs, market stalls, as well as at shows such as Bakewell & Ashover, it is recommended you have passed the Basic Food Hygiene Course (Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering).
Courses cover:-
- Causes of food poisoning, Contamination, Micro-organisms,
- High risk foods, Cooking, Chilling & re-heating,
- Preventing food poisoning, Personal hygiene,
- Cleaning & disinfection, Pest control, Premises & Equipment
I have looked at what courses are available and a flexible way to enable individuals wishing to get certification is by following (at their own pace) one of a number On-line Courses available on the Internet.
Whether we could organise a venue & trainer to offer a course may be possible however students would be expected to pay the costs for taking the course which are likely to be in the region of £45-£50 per person. This compares to the average cost of an On-line course being around £30.
