The Association now has two apiary sites, one of which is used as a training apiary, where we have our own colonies and carry out queen rearing. Help is always required maintaining the apiary, please contact the apiary manager via the secretary.


2012 Beekeeper's courses

CDBKA is pleased to say that we have now planned the dates and
beekeeping course structure for 2012:

The course structure is slightly different for 2012 and will require you to
attend one day on the following weekends, this is to enable you to get
good practical as well as theoretical experience.

14 or 15 April  theory and practical day

28 or 29 April  apiary visit

5 or  6 May  apiary visit

12 May morning or afternoon (this is a half day of theory)

19 or 20 May  apiary visit

27 May  apiary visit

28 May  evening meeting to evaluate the course and identify mentors to
support you with your beekeeping

The course will cost £50 each, which will be payable when booking the
course.
